About TapFold, Built by Md Saban
TapFold is a personal knowledge library for your digital life. Save anything worth coming back to: Instagram Reels, LinkedIn posts, X threads, YouTube videos, articles. Find it instantly, months later.
What TapFold is
Every day you scroll past things that matter: a recipe reel you want to try, a LinkedIn post with career advice you should act on, an X thread breaking down a concept you've been trying to understand. You save them. And then you never find them again.
TapFold is the fix. Share any link to TapFold from the iOS or Android share sheet, and it automatically transcribes the content, generates tags, writes a summary, and indexes everything for semantic search. Months later, you search "that breathing exercise for sleep" and the exact Reel surfaces, even if you can't remember when you saved it or what it was called.
It's what your Instagram Saved tab, LinkedIn saved posts, and Twitter bookmarks should have been: one searchable library for everything you save, across every app.
The founder
TapFold is built and maintained by Md Saban, a full-stack mobile developer focused on iOS, Android, and the APIs that power them. Saban has been building mobile products for years and knows firsthand how frustrating it is to save something and then spend twenty minutes trying to find it again.

Why I built this
The honest origin story: I had hundreds of saved Instagram Reels and could never find the ones I actually wanted to revisit. Instagram's Saved tab is reverse-chronological with no search. LinkedIn buries your saved posts three taps deep with no way to filter them. Twitter bookmarks on the free plan have no search at all. And Pocket (which shut down in July 2025) never handled social media content in the first place.
I tried every read-later app. They're all built for articles. None of them can transcribe an Instagram Reel, read a LinkedIn post, or make sense of a Twitter thread beyond storing a link that might break. So I built TapFold to fill that gap: a save app that actually understands social content, not just web pages.
The result is a tool I use every day. Every Reel, post, thread, and article I save gets automatically processed, tagged, and indexed. I search in plain English and find what I'm looking for, even saves from six months ago. That's the experience I wanted to exist. TapFold is it.
What TapFold does, technically
When you share a link to TapFold, here's what happens in the background:
- Scrape: the page or social post is fetched and its content extracted.
- Transcribe: for videos (Reels, YouTube, TikTok), the audio is transcribed to text so the spoken content becomes searchable.
- Tag & summarize: AI reads the content and generates smart tags and a short summary automatically.
- Embed: the content is converted to a vector embedding, enabling semantic (meaning-based) search rather than just keyword matching.
The result lands in your library as a ready-to-search save. You didn't have to do anything except tap "Share." For a deeper look at how the save pipeline works, explore the AI bookmark manager explainer or see how TapFold handles saving Instagram Reels specifically.
