TapFold ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights regarding your data, across our website, mobile app, and share extension.
Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account to create and identify your account. If you join our waitlist instead, we collect only your email address.
Content you save. When you save an item, we collect the URL and the content at that URL (text, captions, transcripts, and thumbnails), along with the AI-generated tags, summaries, and search embeddings derived from it, plus any collections, tags, or reminders you add.
Usage and diagnostics. We collect app analytics (such as screens viewed and features used) and crash/diagnostic data to keep the app stable. If you enable notifications, we store a push token to deliver reminders and digests.
How We Use Your Information
We use your account information to authenticate you and provide the Service. We use your saved content solely to provide and improve TapFold: scraping, transcribing, tagging, summarizing, and making your saves searchable. We use analytics and diagnostic data to understand usage and fix problems. We use your email and push tokens to send product updates, reminders, and digests. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
How We Share Your Information
We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf to operate the app, limited to what each needs for its function:
• Authentication providers, to let you sign in securely.
• AI processing providers, to tag, summarize, transcribe, and make your saves
searchable. Content sent for processing is not used to train their models.
• Cloud infrastructure and storage providers, to host the service and store media
such as thumbnails.
• Analytics and diagnostics providers, to measure usage and detect crashes.
We may also disclose information if required by law. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Data Storage & Retention
Your data is stored securely and scoped privately to your account. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your bookmarks, collections, and associated content are permanently deleted.
Your Rights & Account Deletion
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. You can delete individual saves in the app, or delete your entire account and all associated data by emailing us at [email protected]. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
TapFold is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Cookies
Our website uses minimal, functional cookies and privacy-respecting analytics only. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We'll post the updated date above and, for material changes, notify you via email or in-app.
